Grabbits do much more than hold pins!
By Serena Smith | June 17, 2008
That’s where the Grabbit comes in. It’s magnetic, so my pins and needle (which always has a bit of thread in it so it doesn’t get lost) stick to it. My thread snipping scissors and quilting thimble both have the needed materials to keep that magnetic hold as well. Instead of hauling around a spool of thread, I use a bobbin filled with thread so that it sticks to the Grabbit and I don’t lose it. Many times I will have thread leftover on my bobbin and if not, I just wind a little.
By doing this, all of my tools are contained to my Grabbit. They are easy to find, hard to lose and simple to tote places! No wonder this little tool is called a “Grabbit“, because it really does grab those things!

Actually that is the Sea Foam color, but it looks more like the light blue in the photo. But then again, I have a light blue one as well! :) hee hee

Mine is bright yellow…can’t miss it. Now if only my bobbins were metal and not plastic!

My Grabbit is red! I love it. But I keep my scissors and steel tools away from it – because after a while of storage on the Grabbit (or on any magnet) they become magnets themselves and I find that annoying. But, of course some people might like having their scissors be able to pick up pins, needles, bobbins, etc!

It looks great!
Congrats for your work and website.
I only make hand embroideries, because I have an elementary sewing machine (can you understand my English?)
I’m sure I’ll continue reading you often

I like the grabbits also, although I use them mostly for pins. If I drop something metal, they are also good to use as a finding tool.
